Bomb threat evacuates Springfield business

Springfield Police Division officers have given an all-clear signal after a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of three buildings used by Assurant Specialty Property on East Leffel Lane.

The evacuation came after the threat was received about 2:15 p.m. Friday.

Officers searched for anything out-of-place in the building, but allowed workers to return shortly before 4 p.m.

Other employees were still working in the other two buildings, reports said.

Assurant employs more than 1,000 people in Springfield and recently announced that it would open a Dayton center.
