Her sister Erin Laywell said she and another family member identified the body Tuesday.
The family had announced Monday they were offering a $500 reward for information that lead to finding her. Later that day Springfield Police found a woman’s body in a grassy area near Buck Creek, just off the North Belmont Avenue bridge.
Authorities and family members had been searching for Fox for almost a week before she was found. Investigators used a airplane last week to search the wooded area she was last seen near.

Fox had mental health issues in the past, Laywell said, but said she didn’t believe her sister would just disappear because of her two children.
Investigators on the scene near Buck Creek said Monday night they saw no obvious wounds or signs of a struggle, and that the body didn’t appear to have been dumped. Police said they believed she made it to the location under her own power.
Capt. Mike Varner with Springfield Police confirmed she had wounds on her wrist but they likely weren’t the cause of her death.
Detectives are waiting on the coroner’s report for more information, Varner said.
