MLK art, essay contest winners

The Springfield Education Association sponsored an art and essay contest in honor of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. The theme of the contest was "Parents Need to Become More Responsible."
Essay contest winners include:
Grades 4 and 5 — first place: Johnna Linson, Fulton Elementary; second place: Zane Crissinger, Fulton Elementary; third place: Ajanique Taylor, Fulton Elementary; honorable mentions: Daizha Fellows and Maliiah Hardy, Fulton Elementary
Grades 6 and 8 — first place: Velise Bullard, Hayward Middle School; second place: Sean Burroughs and Allysha Brown, Hayward Middle School; third place: Caine Hall, Roosevelt Middle School; honorable mentions: Imani Oliver, Hayward Middle School and Grady Bader, Roosevelt Middle School.
Grades 9 through 12 — first place: Megan Cassada, Springfield High School; second place: Kiarrah Young, Springfield High School; third place: Krista Rollins, Springfield High School; honorable mention: Allen Stone, Springfield High School.
Art contest winners include:
Grades K through 3 — first place: Kimberly Oren, Horace Mann; second place: Britton Mitchell Henry, Perrin Woods; third place: Jahemin Almon, Fulton Elementary; Honorable Mention: Michael Curtsinger.
Grades 4 and 5 — first place: Montez Bates, Fulton Elementary; second place: Heavanly Tarrent, Fulton Elementary.
Grades 6 through 8 — first place: Kristen McDonald, Roosevelt Middle School; second place: Caine Hall, Roosevelt Middle School; third place: Raeleen Humphrey, Roosevelt Middle School; Honorable Mention: Lindsey Six, Schaeffer Middle School
