Condition updated for boys hurt in swept away bounce house

Two boys seriously injured Monday when they fell out of a bouncy castle were reported to be in stable condition Wednesday morning.

The Glens Falls Post-Star reported on it website that police confirmed the condition of the boys who are at Albany Medical Center in upstate New York.

Police said the children’s bounce house was lifted at least 50 feet in the air by strong winds. The 5- and 6-year-old boys were airlifted to the medical center, where they were treated for serious injuries. (PostStar.com)

WNYT said parents told them one boy landed on a parked car and the other landed on asphalt. There was also a 10-year-old girl in the house when it went airborne, but she appeared to suffer minor injuries.

Police said the house was staked into the ground and several adults were present at the time.

The police investigation was ongoing Wednesday, but South Glens Falls Police Chief Kevin Judd told the Post-Star no criminal charges were expected.

According to media reports, the 10-by-10 "bounce house" flew several hundred yards away before it landed in a nearby school athletic field.
