  Clark County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man after he set his GMC Yukon on fire next to Mader's Market on Troy Road Saturday morning. The flames spread to the store causing damage. The market was not open at the time of the fire.

• Man shot outside bakery

  A man was shot early Monday evening in the parking lot outside Schulers Bakery in the Northland Plaza on the 2900 block of Derr Street. The male shooting victim was reportedly with another individual inside a Chevrolet Monte Carlo parked several spots away from the bakery when the incident occurred.

• Suspicious device at Speedway
  5/10/12

  The Dayton Bomb Squad detonated a suspicious package outside the Speedway corporate headquarters at 500 Speedway Drive in Enon around 11 a.m. Thursday morning. The Speedway and Seepex buildings, as well as the parking lot were shut down for nearly four hours as authorites secured the area. Employees were lined down Enon Road for nearly a mile, waiting to enter the buildings.

• Fire damages Springfield Twp. house

  Firefighters from Springfield, German and Bethel Townships battle a house fire at 236 Hedge Dr. in Springfield Twp. Wednesday morning. Two residence were at home at the time of the blaze and both made it out safely after a fire alarm alerted them of the fire. The house was believed to be a complete loss.

  Fire crews battled what appeared to be an attic fire in a suspected vacant house on the 900 block of South Fountain Avenue early Friday night. Flames could be seen coming through the roof and in the attic windows at the front of the house.

• Driver arrested after chase

  Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly stands with the driver of an SUV as she's arrested following a high speed chase that started in Moorefield Twp. and ended in the middle of Sherman Avenue Park in Springfield Wednesday. The car was wanted in connection with an earlier hit and run and a possible breaking and entering. According to Sheriff Kelly, the driver tried to run over a Clark County deputy to avoid the stop sticks he had deployed on the roadway

• Shots fired near school
  4/18/12

  Shots were fired outside the Springfield Academy of Excellence in a parking lot shared with the Church of Jesus on Center Street in Springfield Wednesday afternoon, and authorities are still investigating the incident. No one was injured, but the school was briefly placed on lockdown. Parents and neighbors outside the school said they have concerns about persistent violence in the neighborhood.

  Family, friends and members of the Springfield community gathered in front of the New Flavor Barber Shop on Thursday, March 22, 2012 where Chris DeArmond Sr. was shot and killed last Saturday. A press conference was held here to ask the community to stop violence and forget about retaliation for DeArmond's death.

• Car, semi collide

  Members of the Springfield Township fire division responded to an accident on eastbound I-70 just west of exit 54 on Sunday morning. A semi collided with a BMW causing it to roll several times down the interstate. Four people were inside the car. The driver of the car was transported by medical helicopter to Miami Valley hospital. The Springfield post of the Ohio State Patrol is still investigating the accident.

  A motorcyclist was injured after colliding with a commercial box truck at the intersection of Sunset Avenue and South Belmont Avenue in Springfield on Friday, March 16, 2012. The driver of the truck was not injured.

• Crash on South Bird Road
  3/12/12

  The driver of a crashed car had to wait to be rescued after striking a utility pole and snapping it off along South Bird Road Monday morning, March 12, 2012. Springfield Twp. rescue personnel had to wait for Ohio Edison crews to cut the power flowing through the utility lines and transformer that were resting on top of the car before they were able to remove the uninjured driver. Bird Road was closed while the crash was cleaned up and the pole was repaired.

• Vigil for Greenon grad

  Family and friends gathered for a candlelight vigil for Sarah Hammond at in the Greenon High School gymnasium on Thursday, March 8, 2012. A 2009 Greenon graduate, Sarah was killed in a two-car accident on Friday, March 2nd, on I-75 in Middleton Township, Ohio, when the car she was riding in was struck head-on by a driver going the wrong way. Three other people died in the accident.

  To celebrate raising over $240 dollars for the Warder Literacy Center Friday, students at Snowhill Elementary, who recorded the most minutes read in the past several weeks threw a pie in the face of the school's teachers who had the most money donated in their name.
