Clark County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man after he set his GMC Yukon on fire next to Mader's Market on Troy Road Saturday morning. The flames spread to the store causing damage. The market was not open at the time of the fire.
The Dayton Bomb Squad detonated a suspicious package outside the Speedway corporate headquarters at 500 Speedway Drive in Enon around 11 a.m. Thursday morning. The Speedway and Seepex buildings, as well as the parking lot were shut down for nearly four hours as authorites secured the area. Employees were lined down Enon Road for nearly a mile, waiting to enter the buildings.

The driver of a crashed car had to wait to be rescued after striking a utility pole and snapping it off along South Bird Road Monday morning, March 12, 2012. Springfield Twp. rescue personnel had to wait for Ohio Edison crews to cut the power flowing through the utility lines and transformer that were resting on top of the car before they were able to remove the uninjured driver. Bird Road was closed while the crash was cleaned up and the pole was repaired.

A 2009 Greenon graduate, Sarah was killed in a two-car accident on Friday, March 2nd, on I-75 in Middleton Township, Ohio, when the car she was riding in was struck head-on by a driver going the wrong way. Three other people died in the accident.

A woman was rescued from the ice-covered pond in her backyard at 9555 Jones Road in Pleasant Twp. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. She had stretched a ladder onto the ice and climbed out to rescue her dog that had fallen through the ice in the center of the pond. The dog was not able to be saved, but fire fighters did recover the pet's body from the water with a rescue boat.

Feeling bad for the kitties, deputies began putting food out for them. It's now grown to a heated cat house all paid for privately by the deputies.

A Bob Evans truck rear-ended a Greenon Local School bus Wednesday morning. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. The crash happened about 8:40 a.m. in the 5000 block of Springfield-Xenia Road. The students were checked out by Hustead medics and transferred to another bus to be taken to school.

At 10:56 Saturday, July 30, 2011 the Ohio State Highway patrol received a call by a witness who saw a plane flying low and didn't come back up. They responded to find two adults had died in the crash. The plane crashed about 2 miles west of 7391 S. Pitchin Road near Springfield, Ohio in a muddy field. All-terrain and 4-wheel drive vehicles were the only ones that could make it out to scene.
