• Vehicle on fire at market
  5/19/12

  Clark County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man after he set his GMC Yukon on fire next to Mader's Market on Troy Road Saturday morning. The flames spread to the store causing damage. The market was not open at the time of the fire.

• Suspicious device at Speedway
  5/10/12

  The Dayton Bomb Squad detonated a suspicious package outside the Speedway corporate headquarters at 500 Speedway Drive in Enon around 11 a.m. Thursday morning. The Speedway and Seepex buildings, as well as the parking lot were shut down for nearly four hours as authorites secured the area. Employees were lined down Enon Road for nearly a mile, waiting to enter the buildings.

  The Clark County track and field championships were held Friday, April 27, 2012, at Greenon High School. Shawnee won the boys championship, while Northeastern took home the girls title.

  A man suffered minor injuries after escaping a mobile home late Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 2012, at Lot 15 of Springfield Meadows on the 4000 block of Troy Road.

• Driver arrested after chase

  Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly stands with the driver of an SUV as she's arrested following a high speed chase that started in Moorefield Twp. and ended in the middle of Sherman Avenue Park in Springfield Wednesday. The car was wanted in connection with an earlier hit and run and a possible breaking and entering. According to Sheriff Kelly, the driver tried to run over a Clark County deputy to avoid the stop sticks he had deployed on the roadway

• Crash on South Bird Road
  3/12/12

  The driver of a crashed car had to wait to be rescued after striking a utility pole and snapping it off along South Bird Road Monday morning, March 12, 2012. Springfield Twp. rescue personnel had to wait for Ohio Edison crews to cut the power flowing through the utility lines and transformer that were resting on top of the car before they were able to remove the uninjured driver. Bird Road was closed while the crash was cleaned up and the pole was repaired.

• Vigil for Greenon grad

  Family and friends gathered for a candlelight vigil for Sarah Hammond at in the Greenon High School gymnasium on Thursday, March 8, 2012. A 2009 Greenon graduate, Sarah was killed in a two-car accident on Friday, March 2nd, on I-75 in Middleton Township, Ohio, when the car she was riding in was struck head-on by a driver going the wrong way. Three other people died in the accident.

• Woman rescued from pond

  A woman was rescued from the ice-covered pond in her backyard at 9555 Jones Road in Pleasant Twp. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012. She had stretched a ladder onto the ice and climbed out to rescue her dog that had fallen through the ice in the center of the pond. The dog was not able to be saved, but fire fighters did recover the pet's body from the water with a rescue boat.

• Deputies build house for kittens

  The Clark County Sheriff's Office east office has been taking care of a couple of cats. Dubbed Clark and County, the two cats were dumped as kittens outside the office some months ago. Feeling bad for the kitties, deputies began putting food out for them. It's now grown to a heated cat house all paid for privately by the deputies.

• Missing man died in truck crash

  The Ohio State Highway Patrol confirmed that James B. Fugate, 69, was killed when he crashed his Ford F-150 pickup truck either Saturday, Oct. 29 or Sunday, Oct. 30 into a field just south of Enon, near Stine Road and South Xenia Drive. Fugate had been missing since Thursday, Oct. 27 from Bath Twp. in Greene County.

• Deputy injured in crash

  Clark County Sheriff's Office Deputy Denise Jones' Patrol vehicle was rear-ended in a three-car accident late Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 12, 2011, sending her and the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee to Miami Valley hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officials said Jones' vehicle was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Silverado, pushing the Sheriff's vehicle into the rear of the Jeep SUV on Ohio 235 at Stafford Road in Pike Twp.

  A Bob Evans truck rear-ended a Greenon Local School bus Wednesday morning. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage. The crash happened about 8:40 a.m. in the 5000 block of Springfield-Xenia Road. The students were checked out by Hustead medics and transferred to another bus to be taken to school.

  Ohio Edison is reporting that up to 5,000 customers in the Enon area could be without power Friday, August 19 after the driver of a car lost control and struck a utility pole, breaking it in two, on Broadway Road.

• Child dies after car accident

  A serious two-vehicle accident on West National Road near Gordon Road in Bethel Twp., Clark County, Monday afternoon, Aug. 15, 2011, sent two young children to a Dayton hospital, according to Sgt. Yvonne Thorne of the Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. According to witnesses, a Jeep rear-ended a van which had slowed for an animal crossing the road.

• Wright flyer crashed in Clark

  At 10:56 Saturday, July 30, 2011 the Ohio State Highway patrol received a call by a witness who saw a plane flying low and didn't come back up. They responded to find two adults had died in the crash. The plane crashed about 2 miles west of 7391 S. Pitchin Road near Springfield, Ohio in a muddy field. All-terrain and 4-wheel drive vehicles were the only ones that could make it out to scene.
