Springfield’s Chrysler and Jeep franchises are packing up and moving in with Dodge.

The franchises will now be located at Jeff Wyler, 1501 Hillcrest Ave., according to Jeff Wyler, CEO of Cincinnati-based Jeff Wyler Automotive Family Inc. The Wyler dealership purchased the Chrysler and Jeep brands from Bill Marine Auto Center, 415 E. North St. in downtown Springfield. Wyler announced the deal in a release Tuesday, July 28.

Representatives from Marine were not available for comment.

The deal closed Tuesday, but the Springfield dealership is still awaiting final approval from the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles Dealer Licensing Section, which issues the license for all dealers to sell vehicles.

“We have received Chrysler’s approval and have cars on order. We’re just waiting for approval from the state, which should be here in a few days,” said Wyler Springfield General Manager Jay Lawrence.

Wyler is able to offer warranty service as of today, July 29, and should be selling Chrysler and Jeep vehicles by the end of the week, Lawrence said.

The move goes toward Chrysler’s goal of having all of its brands under one roof. The changeover will also bring with it about four new jobs in sales and service.

“We now have a bigger package, more variety and a larger inventory. We’re excited about it. We welcome Chrysler and Jeep owners and are looking forward to servicing them,” Lawrence said.
