Wright State gets $118,000 in rebates from DP&L

Staff Report

FAIRBORN — Wright State University said it was awarded $118,000 in rebates from Dayton Power and Light Co. for installing energy-efficient lighting and heating/air conditioning equipment.

Wright State said it expects to save $45,000 a year in energy costs with the new equipment.

DP&L said it was the largest single rebate awarded since the utility began the business energy rebate program in April 2009.

DP&L and other Ohio utilities are offering such programs as part of efforts to comply with state-mandated requirements to reduce electricity consumption by 22 percent by the end of 2025. Reducing electricity usage can postpone the need to build additional power-generating plants.
