Wright-Patterson to host 2010 Freedom’s Call Tattoo on June 25

Staff Report

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — The next version of the Freedom’s Call Tattoo, the base’s annual free summer event featuring patriotic music, aircraft fly-overs and fireworks, will take place on Friday, June 25, 2010.

The Air Force Materiel Command is hoping to draw as many as 75,000 people to the event, now in its sixth year, officials at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base said Friday, Dec. 18.

The 2010 event will celebrate veterans of the Korean War and feature music from the base’s own Air Force Band of Flight.

The 2008 Tattoo’s headline act was the Charlie Daniels Band. Country singer Aaron Tippin filled that role this year. The Air Force is arranging for a new headline act for the 2010 Tattoo, but hasn’t completed arrangements and won’t make the announcement until early 2010, base officials said.

Attendees of the 2010 Tattoo can also view the Technology Expo, which features military wares developed and managed at Wright-Patterson and used throughout the Air Force.
