Vandalia company gets new $44M military contract

By Staff Report

VANDALIA — Projects Unlimited Inc. has been awarded the latest in a series of contracts to supply electronic assemblies for H-1 and V-22 helicopters built by Bell Helicopter for the Army and Air Force.

The $44 million, five-year contract begins in 2013, said Chris Wyse, president and chief operating officer of Projects Unlimited. Bell Helicopter, based in Fort Worth, Texas, builds the copters in Amarillo, Texas.

The contract is in addition to a $43 million contract Projects Unlimited was awarded last year to build flight control computers, ice protection control units and wiring integration remote terminal assemblies for Bell helicopter’s H-1 and V-22 copters, Wyse said Tuesday.

Projects Unlimited employs about 170 people. It has been producing cables and electronic assemblies for the H-1 and V-22 programs since 2005, and has served the aerospace and defense industries for almost 60 years.
