Macy’s to add Sunglass Huts in Beavercreek, Springfield stores in 2011

Staff Report

Macy’s Inc. is expanding its nationwide installation of Sunglass Hut counters in its stores, and will add them in its stores at the Mall at Fairfield Commons in Beavercreek and the Upper Valley Mall in Springfield by spring of 2011, the retailer said Friday, Dec. 4.

The Macy’s store at Dayton Mall already has a Sunglass Hut.

Sunglass Hut, a specialty retailer, has more than 2,000 locations worldwide. It is part of Luxottica Group S.p.A., an international provider of eyeglasses.

Macy’s said the expansion in 2010 and 2011 will increase the number of in-store Sunglass Huts to about 670. The expansion will start on the West Coast and move eastward during the next two years, Macy’s spokesman Jim Sluzewski said.
