Home sales, prices stay up in May

Staff Report

May marked the third consecutive month of corresponding increases in home sales and sales prices compared to the same months a year ago, the Dayton Area Board of Realtors said today.

Approximately 1,130 single family homes and condos were sold in Greene, Montgomery, and Preble counties and parts of Warren County last month, according to early estimates from the realtors group. The sales increase was nearly 10 percent from the same month last year.

The average sales price of $130,000 was up more than 10 percent from a year ago. The median sales price of $106,000 rose six percent, according to the group.

Home sales now have been up year-over-year for 10 out of the past 11 months.
