DRS to shift work from Fairborn to Beavercreek

BEAVERCREEK — DRS Intelligence and Avionics Solutions will move into the Mission Point Office Park here in 2010, executives said Tuesday, Sept. 1.

DRS will move into 2601 Mission Point Blvd. either in the latter part of first quarter 2010 or early in the second quarter, said Gerry Butler, vice president and general manager of DRS Intelligence and Avionics Solutions.

The company employs about 120 in the Dayton area, but likely will increase its staff 10 percent by adding more engineers, Butler said.

Mission Point is a 134-acre commercial development situated across from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Miller-Valentine Group is developing the park, which eventually will house 800,000 square feet of commercial space.

Michael Greitzer, partner and president of Miller-Valentine’s Dayton market, said DRS will occupy about 50 percent of the 90,000 square feet making up 2601 Mission Point Blvd., the office park’s first building.

The building, completed in January, cost about $10 million to build, Greitzer said.
