Brazilian air force returning at 2012 Dayton Air Show

Staff Report

DAYTON — The Brazilian air force’s “Smoke Squadron,” a precision flying team whose airplanes trail smoke during their aerial routines, will return to the Dayton Air Show in 2012, air show officials said Thursday.

The Dayton Air Show is scheduled July 7-8 at Dayton International Airport.

The Brazilian aviators will travel to Dayton in eight Embraer T-27 Tucano airplanes and a Brazilian air force C-130 Hercules transport aircraft. The squadron previously performed in the 2007 and 2009 Dayton air shows.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are the featured attraction for this year’s air show.

Tickets can be purchased through the air show’s web site at www.daytonairshow.com. Supermarkets of the Kroger Co., a sponsor, will begin selling discounted air show tickets on May 21. Vectren Corp. is the air show’s primary sponsor.
