WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE — President Obama has nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Andrew E. Busch for promotion to lieutenant general and assignment as vice commander of the Air Force Materiel Command, officials said Tuesday.
The promotion is subject to Senate confirmation.
Busch currently serves as commander of the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill Air Force Base, an AFMC base in Utah. The AFMC has its headquarters at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Obama has already nominated Lt. Gen. Janet Wolfenbarger, a former AFMC vice commander now assigned to the Pentagon, for promotion to general and assignment as the AFMC’s new commander.
Wolfenbarger will succeed Gen. Donald Hoffman, the current AFMC commander who is retiring. Wolfenbarger’s nomination also is subject to Senate confirmation.
The changes are part of an AFMC restructuring announced in November, which is intended to streamline the chain of command by removing some administrative layers.
