Boehner set for ‘Tonight Show’ appearance

Speaker of the House John Boehner is set to be on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno tonight.

According to NBC, the West Chester Twp. Republican will discuss his background and the latest political news. Some of the hot political topics Washington, D.C., politicians are dealing with include immigration, the still sluggish economy and job growth.

The House last week approved a $1.1 trillion spending bill for operating the government until just before next fall’s election. The bipartisan House deal helps avoid a possible government shutdown. Last fall, a partial government shutdown lasted 16 days.

NBC also reports Boehner will also discuss his background, a former small business owner and being the second of 12 children.

The “Tonight Show” airs at 11:35 p.m. on NBC. With Boehner, tonight’s guests include actor Matt LeBlanc (famously known as Joey on “Friends”) and musician Dorian Holley.
