Around 1,900 to graduate from Wright State this weekend


Wright State University is set to award more than 1,700 degrees this weekend at the school’s fall commencement ceremony.

Nearly 1,900 students are expected to graduate during the 10 a.m. ceremony in Wright State’s Nutter Center.

Around 1,083 bachelor’s degrees will be awarded, on top of 681 master’s degrees and a number of associate’s degrees and certificates, according to the university.

The class features graduates from 58 Ohio counties and 34 total states. The class also includes 365 international students from 30 different nations. The graduating students from the class range in age from 19 to 72.

Most of Wright State’s graduates will come from the College of Engineering and Computer Science, with 440 students being awarded their degrees. The university’s Lake Campus will graduate 40 of its students this weekend, according to the university.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on WSU-TV on Time Warner Cable channel 21.105 in the university dorms and Fairborn and regionally on AT&T Uverse channel 99 in the Dayton tab, according to the school. Wright State will also stream the ceremony online.
