City receives stimulus dollars for energy projects

SPRINGFIELD — The city of Springfield will receive more than $622,000 in federal stimulus dollars for energy efficiency projects.
The Obama administration announced Thursday, March 26, that more than $84 million will go to Ohio for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program.
The money will go to projects that improve energy efficiency and reduce fossil fuel admissions, according to a White House news release.
Eligible projects include energy audits, energy efficiency retrofits, incentive programs and transportation upgrades.
