St. Paris, Ohio — Friends are gathering donated clothes and money to help the surviving victims of Saturday's fatal trailer home fire that killed four children .
State fire marshall's investigators are continuing their search into the cause of the blaze.
So far, there is no evidence that a mobile home fire Saturday, March 21, was intentionally set, according to state fire marshal's office investigators.
Also, no smoke detectors were found in the home and investigators believe the blaze started in the living room, according to Shane Cartmill, public information officer, Division of State Fire Marshal.
Electrical engineers are scheduled to visit the scene later in the week, said Cartmill.
The blaze killed four children in the home at 11690 U.S. 36, Lot No. 15, in the Paris Court West mobile home park west of St. Paris. The deceased are Nathan Skaggs, 2; Patrick Snelling, 8; Breonna Snelling, 10; and Cassandra Karg, 10.
Phillip Skaggs Jr and Christina Gregg and their 8-month-old infant, Natalia Skaggs, escaped the blaze.
Graham Elementary School students and staff are devastated by the loss of three students and a toddler in their community over the weekend, Superintendent Jim Zerkle said Monday, March 23.
Graham Local Schools arranged Monday morning for teams of counselors to be at the elementary school and on the bus route that the three older children rode, said Superintendent Jim Zerkle.
"We've lost a lot of children over the years, but to lose three small children is just devastating," he said. "We're getting through it, minute by minute."
Staff met with Zerkle Sunday to prepare to help the students deal with their grief.
"Of course our number one concern is our children," he said. "Followed closely by staff."
The Snelling children had been attending Graham schools since November; Cassie had been with the district since 2007, Zerkle said.
"They were good kids and seem to be well-accepted by other students and the staff," he said.
The district is working with Vernon Funeral Home, who is handling the arrangements for the children, said Zerkle.
"The community will come together on this," he said.
