Cedarville U. hosts math and science day

CEDARVILLE, Ohio — Cedarville University's Math and Science Day from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Stevens Student Center, Cedarville University, 251 N. Main St., provides high school students and their parents with the tools to turn an interest in equations and formulas into a career.
Students will learn what majors the department of science and mathematics offers and the opportunities available after graduation. Department faculty will hold sessions detailing the different academic programs and answer questions from prospective students or their parents about a career in the sciences. Faculty and current students will hold lab demonstrations, present research and coordinate activities.
At the end of the day a session titled "Don't Try This at Home" will be held, involving explosive demonstrations.
Attendees also are invited to stay for the 30th Annual CU Classic Basketball Tournament in the Callan Athletic Center beginning at 5 p.m. Admission is free, but participants must register either online at cedarville.edu/scimathday or call (800) CEDARVILLE.
