Former councilman, school board member accused of vandalizing police cars

Thursday, July 03, 2008

ENON — A local man who formerly served on the village council and Greenon school board is in jail after allegedly vandalizing police cruisers early Thursday, July 3.

Christopher W. Price, 46, of 140 Countryside Drive, Enon, was arrested on charges of criminal mischief, criminal trespass and disruption of public service, according to a sheriff's report.

Price vandalized three Enon police cruisers and another vehicle belonging to an Enon police employee about 3:30 a.m., according to the report.

The incident happened in the 300 block of East Main Street, according to the report.

Price was a member of the Greenon school board from 1998 to 2005, when he was not re-elected, according to the Clark County Board of Elections. During the summer of 2005, he faced various charges of drug possession and drunk driving, resulting from a June 26 traffic stop.

He was also a village councilman from 1990 to 2001, said village administrator Tim Howard.

Price has spoken at council meetings about police-related issues at least three times in 2008, according to meeting minutes. In February, just after the Enon council terminated former Police Chief Frank Maus, Price asked if tickets written by the Enon police department were valid if the village did not have a chief and claimed the council violated Sunshine Laws by voting in closed session to terminate Maus.
