Gene and June Cole, 2687 Prestwick Village Circle, are the first winners of the Community Beautification Committee Home of the Week Award this season, according to Chairman Marianne L. Nave and Co-Chairman Theresa Mills.

The CBC is conducting its 43rd annual Home Beautification Contest this summer and 12 Home of the Week winners will be selected from those persons entered in the contest. The winning property is a beautiful example of what residents can accomplish in a smaller yard, such as this condo.

The Coles are first time participants in the CBC contest. They will receive a Home of the Week plaque and shield award at the Oct. 12 CBC Awards Presentation at The Courtyard by Marriott-Downtown Springfield. Suggestions for the Home of the Week may be mailed to the committee for consideration; however, only entrants already in the contest are eligible. If the person suggested is not in the current contest, the name will be held for automatic entry in the next contest. Only city residents are eligible for the residential contest.

To enter a business suggestion for beautification recognition, send a letter addressed to CBC Contest, 76 E. High St., Springfield, OH 45502. Businesses along the periphery of the city also will be considered for special awards.
