Springfield, Ohio — Clark County, rev up your engines and lace up your walking shoes, because you're likely to cover a few miles this weekend.
Beginning at noon today, the Clark County Fairgrounds will play host to the three-day Country Home Antiquing Festival, while the 2008 Rotary Grand Prix will welcome its Saturday racing event with a parade at 8 p.m today.
Extras
The core block of downtown Springfield was closed late Thursday and will remain open to foot traffic only through 10 p.m. Saturday. The event is free, and so is parking at garages and lots surrounding downtown. Races begin 10:30 Saturday morning, while family FUNFEST activities will be held in the Kuss Auditorium/Performing Arts Center parking lot. A food tent will house vendors, and downtown restaurants will extend their hours during the event.
The Antiquing Festival, which runs through 4 p.m. Sunday, will feature more than 2,200 dealers who will set up along a dozen buildings at the Fairgrounds. Fine period furniture, fine art and folk art will be available for collectors and dealers alike. Like at the Grand Prix, food vendors will be plentiful.
