New Cox sites offer way to keep area moms connected

Cox Ohio Publishing has developed two regional Web sites expressly for moms. Named for their respective telephone area codes, the mom-targeted sites can be found at www.937Moms.com and www.513Moms.com.

"This site combines the newspaper's rich database of information with a way for moms to informally network. As a mother myself, I can see a need for this product and I am sure it will arm other mothers with the information they need to enrich their families' lives," said Edwina Blackwell Clark, Senior Vice President for Audience for Cox Ohio Publishing.

The primary focus of each Web site is a discussion board for local moms to share personal experiences and information with each other. Other interactive features on the site include an events calendar to contribute to and check, an open blog where moms can post questions and comments, and a place where they can upload and view photos.

Local moms also have access to the latest news and professional advice on health, child care and development. Coupons and recipes can be downloaded and printed, and fun activities for parents and children to do together at home also are featured on the site.

"Moms can use our product to talk about issues important to them, including how to find quality day care and things to do with their children," said Ray Marcano, Internet General Manager for Cox Ohio Publishing.

"In addition, our parenting news and columns from local experts make our moms' sites the place to go for all the information moms need to help them with their day-to-day challenges," he said.

A unit of Cox Newspapers, Inc., Cox Ohio Publishing reaches more than 1 million adults each week with its print and online products, and publishes the Dayton Daily News, the (Hamilton) JournalNews, the Springfield News-Sun, The Middletown Journal, The Oxford Press, Fairfield Echo, Western Star and three editions of The Pulse-Journal, in addition to various Web sites serving the Dayton, Springfield and Northern Cincinnati regions.
