'Cronicas' misses mark as thriller, media critique

As headlines and worried pundits keep reminding us, these are not good times for the reputation of investigative journalism. READ THE REVIEW

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: B
"A fascinating cat-and-mouse game ... with the murderer brilliantly leading on the muckraking journalist."

Austin American-Statesman: 2 of 5 stars
"The reporter's prison-cell interviews with his informant are the movie's weak link: They're meant to throw us into a frenzy of doubt and suspense, but they do little to move things forward."

The Palm Beach Post: B-
"Credit writer-director Sebastian Cordero with trying to elevate a routine crime drama with moral implications, even if Cronicas does not quite rise to that aspiration."
