Central rolls past Indians

By Staff Reports

Sunday, September 21, 2008

CEDARVILLE — Catholic Central senior quarterback Brendan Kelly went 16-for-20 for 215 yards and four touchdown passes as the Irish cruised past Cedarville 35-7 in Ohio Heritage Conference football action on Saturday, Sept. 20.

The game was postponed from Friday night because the electricity at Cedarville's Hickman Field was knocked out after the windstorm on Sept. 14.

The field was fully operational for Saturday's game, thanks to donated generators from Cedarville University which powered the scoreboard, press box and the concession stand. Catholic Central's Patrick Sheehan caught five passes for 41 yards and two touchdowns, while Keegan Kelly had four catches for 79 yards and a touchdown and Jake Aldridge had three receptions for 43 yards and a touchdown.

On the ground, Ryan Tumblison had 98 yards on 14 carries and Tyler Dobbins had

90 yards on 11 carries for Catholic Central (3-2, 1-1 OHC).

Keegan Kelly also scored on a fumble recovery after Brendan Kelly fumbled into the end zone after an 8-yard run.

The Indians (1-4, 0-2) had just 119 yards of total offense, including a 50-yard touchdown pass to Ty Ashbaugh from Billy Vine in the fourth quarter.
