Man gets two years for May shooting role

Springfield, Ohio — A 27-year-old Springfield man who pleaded guilty to felonious assault this week was sentenced to two years in prison for his role in a May shooting.
Ryan Bullard, of 235 E. Southern Ave., initially also faced charges of attempted murder, having weapons while under disability and abduction for allegedly shooting Lisa Anoles on May 30. These charges were dropped as part of Bullard's plea agreement and he was sentenced Tuesday, Dec. 2, said John Paul Rion, Bullard's lawyer.
A Springfield police report from the time of the shooting stated Bullard shot Anoles after accusing her and another woman of stealing $500 from him.
Rion said his client was prepared to go to trial on the case and the evidence was "favorable to the defense."
"We believe (the plea agreement) was a fair resolution," Rion added.
Clark County Assistant Prosecutor Chris Kinsler was unavailable for comment.
