Help Humane Society shelter by casting votes online for it to win $1 million makeover

SPRINGFIELD — The Clark County Humane Society has registered to win a $1 million shelter makeover and is asking for the community's help.
Between now and March 13, residents can go to Zootoo.com and earn points for the Humane Society by registering and participating on the site, such as writing journal entries or uploading photos.
The top 20 point-getters become semifinalists and will be visited by Zootoo staff, who will narrow the field to 10 finalists. Voting will be opened in April, with the makeover winner announced at the end of the month.
On Nov. 28, the Clark County Humane Society ranked 548th among more than 1,000 competitors for the makeover.
"This is a vehicle where you could really make a difference," said Clark County Humane Society Director Ed Sisler, "not so I can have a bigger office but so that we can have much-needed additional space and isolation (space) for cats, not to mention the iguanas and snakes."
The makeover would be especially appreciated with the shelter facing a possible 16 percent cut in its funding next year due to county budget cuts, Sisler said.
