SPRINGFIELD, Ohio — Four people were arrested Friday, Sept. 5, accused of burglarizing multiple homes and trading the stolen goods for drugs — except for an air conditioner that investigators found installed in the accused burglar's home.
Ian N. Massie, 28, and Ashley M. Ault, 20, both of 11 Larkspur Drive, were each charged with multiple counts of burglary.
Matthew B. Whitley, 27, of 11157 Knoxville Road, Mechanicsburg, was charged with receiving stolen property, possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs. Francisco Guajardo, 22, of 1811 W. Main St., was charged with burglary.
Investigators believe they are responsible for a string of burglaries in the eastern part of Clark County over a 24-hour period Thursday.
Deputies seized rifles and "multiple doses of heroin," said Clark County Sheriff Gene Kelly.
Ault is accused of driving the getaway car.
They were taken to the Clark County Jail.
Investigators believe the group to be involved with other break-ins and are asking for the public's help, Kelly said.
The car allegedly used in the robberies is a white '90s Pontiac Sunfire, he said.
Anyone who recalls seeing a vehicle matching that description is asked to contact the Clark County Sheriff's Office at (937) 328-2560.
