Skaggs trial: Driver suffered multiple skull fractures —investigator

Springfield, Ohio — The driver of a Ford Taurus in which three university students were killed sustained "multiple skull fractures", an official with the Montgomery County coroner's office testified in the trial of Jason Skaggs Monday, August 4.
Jin "Jack" Bian, 27, died of "multiple blunt force injuries," said Kent Harshbarger, an investigator who performed the autopsy.
Bian also had a broken spine and multiple internal injuries, Harshbarger said.
Bian, Yan "Zoe" Sun and Bing "Jo" Xue, both 24 were killed in a nine-car pileup at Urbana and Moorefield roads March 8, 2007. All three were Chinese natives.
Skaggs, 36, is charged with three counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and two counts of aggravated vehicular assault.
The two charges for aggravated vehicular assault stem from two other people who were seriously injured in the crash.
If convicted on all charges, Skaggs could face up to 34 years in prison.
