Montel, Jack Hanna scheduled for library series
Saturday, July 19, 2008
Springfield, Ohio — Psychic Sylvia Browne no doubt saw this coming — Montel Williams will open the Clark County Public Library's next speaker series.
Williams, the Emmy-winning daytime host whose talk show recently was canceled after almost 20 years (Sylvia apparently didn't foresee that one), will speak in Kuss Auditorium at 7 p.m. Oct. 9.
He's the author of best-selling motivational and wellness books.
His newest, "Living Well," was released this year.
Tickets, priced at $10 for adults and $5 for students, go on sale Sept. 15 at the Clark State Performing Arts Center box office, or by calling (937) 328-3874.
The 2008-09 series will close on March 5 with a sure-to-be-popular visit from Jack Hanna, who will (naturally) have a posse of animals in tow.
Hanna, director emeritus of the nearby Columbus Zoo, will wrangle critters in Kuss at 7 p.m.
Tickets, priced the same as Williams, go on sale Feb. 9.
Williams and Hanna will make themselves available afterward for autographs at the main library.
A slate of regional authors and speakers will once again fill in the rest of the series.
Since its inception in 2000, the library's speaker series has brought who's who of notables to town, from literary giants Maya Angelou and Alice Walker to pop culture icons Stan Lee and Cheech Marin.
