SPRINGFIELD — A warming trend is predicted for next week.
What Live Doppler doesn't know is that it's because one of the hottest guys on TV, Clark County native Justin Chambers, is on his way back home.
Extras
Chambers, who stars as Dr. Alex Karev on TV's "Grey's Anatomy," will make himself available to local fans Thursday at two events to benefit local charities.
The 1989 Southeastern High grad first will be the star of a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott.
A $50 plate will come with an opportunity for pictures and autographs, plus the chance to win autographed scrubs and "Grey's" merchandise at an auction.
Proceeds benefit Urban Light Ministries as well as Eyes Wide Open Worldwide, a Springfield-based children's photography project.
For tickets, call event
organizer Alyce Comer at (937) 605-4071.
About 300 tickets for the luncheon are available, but if you can't snag one, there's plenty of Alex Karev to go around.
Chambers later will meet fans from 5 to 7 p.m. at Springfield Ford, 5600 Urbana Road.
Admission is two canned goods or nonperishable items for Urban Light's food pantry.
Next week will mark the first time in almost three years Chambers has been home.
On his last visit, in 2005, he stopped by the Relay for Life.
"That show ('Grey's Anatomy') is so big. I'm talking mega-big," Comer said. "It makes it hard for him to come home."
But with a writers strike and production on most TV shows stalled, what else is a TV heartthrob to do?
