Independence Day holiday focus of forum

The whole family can learn about Independence Day Celebrations in America in the Gaier Room of the Clark County Public Library, 201 S. Fountain Ave., on Thursday.

This presentation, sponsored by the Global Education and Peace Network and the Clark County Public Library, will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m and will feature Springfield Youth Symphony member Tyler Detrick playing patriotic songs.

Extras

Dr. Francisco Valls and the Rev. Margaret Asabea-Aboagye will share about the importance of independence in their native countries, Ghana and Guatemala, and tell how Independence Day is celebrated.

The meeting is free and open to the public, and is designed to appeal to all ages. This program adheres to the theme of this year's Global Education Speakers Series "Global Celebrations."
