Miami is a residential university that is known as one of the nation's top public undergraduate universities and as one of the best educational values in America.

Established in 1809, it is named for the Miami Indian Tribe that inhabited the area now known as the Miami Valley Region of Ohio.

In addition to the main campus in Oxford, which is 35 miles north of Cincinnati, Miami has regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, as well as a European Center in Luxembourg. Miami ranks among the top 20 universities in the nation for the number of students studying abroad.
