Gene White, an International retiree, is reflected in the side mirror on his car as he sits in the parking lot across the street from the International Lagonda plant watching the factory being demolished Wednesday. White said he worked for International for 30 years from 1956-1986 and worked at the Lagonda plant until the new assembly plant was opened on Urbana Road. White recalled swimming in the pool which used to be located across from the plant when he was a boy and standing on the high-dive to wave to his father who was working at the factory in the summertime.
