Virginia Commonwealth coach Will Wade talked Monday on the weekly Atlantic 10 coaches teleconference about the five goals his team has every game. He wouldn’t specify what those goals were, but his team hit them all in a 90-52 victory over La Salle on Jan. 22. He also said they would have to hit four or five of them to beat a team like Dayton.

After a 73-68 win over the Flyers on Friday at the Siegel Center, Wade said, “We hit all five tonight. That’s what it takes when you play the best teams on your schedule.”

This was only the third time all year the Rams hit all five. Here are the highlights of Wade’s postgame press conference:

On his team's 16th victory: "It was a hard-fought game. Two good teams. We did a good job from the foul line (19 of 26). They've been outscoring teams from the foul line. We did a nice job on the glass (41-24). We got some key offensive rebounds (18-8). We didn't give them a lot of live-ball turnovers so they could get out in transition. That was the story of the game. They're a great team. We were fortunate tonight."

On how much his team needed this one considering it travels to Dayton in March: "They're all important. This one was really important. We changed some of our tendencies this week. We put a lot of time into it. A couple little things we did ended up helping us. We needed a little time to change some stuff. Teams had caught onto some stuff. This week, we just happened to have time."

On the decisive 11-1 run in final minutes: "Our guys, the last six minutes, we really executed. We ran some of our favorite plays and a couple counters off it. Our guys executed and did what they needed to do. It was a combination of a lot of things. I thought we guarded them pretty well for the most part. They're really good when they get three guys to double digits. They only had two guys. That certainly helped us out."
