What do you get when you have a Knight Rider fan with a serious case of '80's nostalgia and three years on his hands? You get an exact replica of KITT, Knight Industries Two Thousand, that really cool, talking car from the hit show.
Chris Palmer from Detroit took his 1991 Pontiac Trans Am. Since it was much newer than the TV version, he swapped out pieces of four other Trans Ams he had purchased (two from 1982 and two from 1983), added some bodywork and made the car look exactly like the original.
So where did he get all the gadgets and gizmos to trick it out for the future, '80's style? Ebay, of course. Palmer found the dash, complete with two monitors and the red pulsating front bumper, on the popular auction site.
The car is missing a couple of little "original" features like the oil slick, flame thrower and William Daniel's voice. The car, unfortunately, doesn't speak.
