'Last Truck' screenings set

Hot Topics

By Terry Morris, Staff Writer 7:47 PM Thursday, October 22, 2009

Free area screenings of the Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert film “The Last Truck” are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24. Showings are scheduled for noon and 1:30 p.m. at the Neon Movies, 130 E. Fifth St., and
4 p.m. at the Little Art Theater, 247 Xenia Ave., Yellow Springs.

If demand merits, there will be an additional showing at 5:30 p.m.

A discussion with the filmmakers and some of the people in the film will follow each screening. “The Last Truck,” which was produced by Home Box Office, documents the 2008 closing of the General Motors truck assembly plant in Moraine.

Bravo, Neon Movies, for showing "The Last Truck." It is important for Dayton-area residents to get their heads out of the sand and see what is happening to our "way of life." If only the corporate-robot movie theaters cared and helped as much as the Neon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for showing "The Last Truck." Neon Movies is an indispensable asset for our battered community. My wife and I patronize the Neon whenever possible. Keep up the good work.
