L'AUBERGE HAS NEW CHEF WITH SPECIAL MENU

KETTERING — L'Auberge, 4120 Far Hills Ave., has a new executive chef who is preparing a specialty from his home region through Tuesday, March 10. He is Romuald Jung, a native of the Alsace-Lorraine region of France, who most recently served as executive chef of The Palace restaurant inside The Cincinnatian hotel in Cincinnati. His previous restaurant experience includes Daniel Boulud in New York, the Peacock Alley at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel and at the Bellagio Hotel Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Owen Maass, l'Auberge's executive chef since early 2007, resigned in part because of the lengthy commute he had from his Cincinnati home, according to Brian DeMarke, l'Auberge's general manager and sommelier. Maass is now part of the culinary team at Cumin restaurant in Cincinnati. Today through Tuesday, March 10, l'Auberge will offer a traditional Alsatian Choucroute Garni dinner featuring Sauerkraut with Smoked Pork Loin, Pork Shank, Sausages and Potatoes, served with stone-ground mustard. The special is available in both the Bistro and the main dining room. The cost is $25. Alsatian wines and beers will be available for added cost. For more information, call (937) 299-5536.
