SPRINGFIELD — Crews cut down the Community Christmas Tree for Holiday in the City this morning, Monday, Nov. 16.

The McDaniel family on Boda Street donated the 30-foot-tall white fir tree.

After cutting, it was taken downtown on the back of flatbed truck and will be erected today on the Esplanade between the Heritage Center and the Courtyard by Marriott, then decorated before the annual holiday festival.

Holiday in the City is set for 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28.
