I am not worried about Blanket, Afghan or Throw Rug.
They will be rich beyond belief and one day, and if they are lucky, star in their own reality cable show on “Bravo.”
The Michael Jackson “baby” I am most concerned with is “We Are the World,” that ’80s classic pop song featuring 45 stars, spandex, shoulder pads and Aqua Net’s expansive line of hair care products.
If left in the wrong hands — anyone who thinks Miley Cyrus is a good singer, finds Dane Cook genius or thinks P.Y.T refers to the Pythagorean theorem — the USA for Africa hit could crash to the ground like so many lawn geese lifted by tornados.
Chance are the song will be remade one of these days.
It’s human nature.
It has been played on a constant loop since the Gloved One’s death Thursday, June 23.
But who will sing the parts if this Jackson/Lionel Richie classic is recreated in a fancy Hollywood studio by current “musicians.”
Here’s where you come on. Who do you think should be tapped to be a part of the fantasy project?
