Taco Bell to offer new taco shell made of chicken

Taco Bell announced its newest menu option this week — a taco shell made entirely of chicken.

The Naked Chicken Chalupa will be released at all Taco Bell locations on Jan. 26. The shell is made with all-white chicken with Mexican spices and seasoning. The inside of the taco is filled with lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese and avocado ranch.

Taco Bell tested the product out in 2015 in select Kansas and California locations. The menu item will go for $2.99, and will also be sold in a $5 Box with a Doritos Locos Taco, a crunchy taco and a medium drink.

“We feel confident that once our fans get a taste of the Naked Chicken Chalupa they are going to understand exactly why this is our next big, fun and craveable innovation, following in the footsteps of the Doritos Locos Tacos five years ago and the Quesalupa just last year,” said Marisa Thalberg, chief marketing officer at Taco Bell Corp.

Taco Bell has several locations throughout the Dayton, Springfield and West Chester Twp. areas.
