5 retailers closing Ohio stores in 2017

1. The Limited

The Limited has closed locations across the U.S., including at least three in the local area. Store locations closed in late December at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek, The Liberty Center and Tri-County Mall in Cincinnati. READ WHY HERE.

2. Ann Taylor

Ann Taylor also closed its location at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek in early January. The company also closed locations in California and Indiana this week. Ascena Retail, Ann Taylor's parent company, said the store's sales fell 11 percent last quarter. READ ABOUT THE LOCAL IMPACT HERE.

3. Macy’s

Macy's is going to shut down 68 stores in the coming months, including three in Ohio. Macy's will close locations in Columbus, Sandusky and Steubenville. More than 193 employees will be impacted in Ohio. READ WHY HERE.

4. Sears

Sears Holdings will close another round of Sears and Kmart stores before April. Four locations will close down in Ohio. Experts expect the closings to continue in 2017 as retailers bring in less revenue through brick-and-mortar stores. READ HERE.

5. Kmart

Kmart, also owned by Sears Holdings, will close seven stores in Ohio. Two Kmart locations, Indian Ripple in Beavercreek and Woodman Drive in Dayton, remain in the Dayton area. READ IF THEY WILL CLOSE HERE.
