Midmark makes leadership change

A Dayton-based medical equipment manufacturer on Monday announced a leadership change among its top executives.

Midmark Corp. appointed Dr. Anne Eiting Klamar as chair of its board of directors. Klamar has served as Midmark’s president since 2000 and added the role of chief executive officer in 2003, making her the fourth generation of the Eiting family to hold a leadership position with the company, officials said.

John Q. Baumann has been appointed president and chief executive officer. Baumann currently serves as chair of Midmark’s board of directors.

Klamar and Baumann will assume their new roles by Jan. 4, 2016.

Under Klamar’s leadership, Midmark extended its global outreach and grew through the acquisition of eight companies, placing the firm on the path toward $1 billion in annual sales, officials said.

As board chair, Klamar will work with Baumann and other board members to set the overall direction for Midmark’s continued growth and long-term health. She also will provide leadership for Midmark’s governance structure as well as the company’s regional and industry commitments.

Baumann has served on the Midmark board of directors since 2009, and as board chair since 2013. He was president and chief executive officer of Cincinnati-based packaging company Ampac for 18 years.

“John and I share a commitment to leading a values-based organization and we both appreciate the role of the strong and healthy culture fostered by the teammates at Midmark,” Klamar said in a statement.

“I trust John and look forward to his leadership of the company’s day-to-day business. His leadership skills will take the company to the next level,” she said.

Headquartered at the University of Dayton River Campus building at 1700 S. Patterson Blvd., Midmark manufactures medical, dental and veterinary equipment. The company has 1,600 workers worldwide, including 850 at its Versailles campus in Darke County.
