Frozen peas recalled at Ohio Aldi stores

Frozen peas distributed at Aldi stores in Ohio could be contaminated with Listeria.

Wisconsin-based Lakeside Foods, Inc. recalled 1,568 packages of 16-ounce Season’s Choice Brand Frozen Peas that were distributed in Aldi stores in seven states. Impacted states include: Ohio, Iowa, Illnois, West Virginia, Kentucky, Florida and Wisconsin.

The sweet peas could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in children or young people. All of the impacted packages have been removed from shelves.

No known illnesses related to this recall have been reported yet, and the company has stopped distribution of the product. Consumers with questions can call 1-800-466-3834.
