Don’t want to cook? Some Clark County restaurants open on Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is just days away and turkeys, among various other holiday staples, are flying off the shelves in stores in Springfield and nationwide.

But surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly), more Americans are looking to supplement their holiday meals with food provided by their friendly, neighborhood restaurant.

According to a survey conducted by ORC International, 9 percent of those who celebrate Thanksgiving in the U.S. plan on at least picking up some portion of their dinner at a restaurant, and 4 percent plan on having their entire meal outside the comfort of their own home — or someone else’s.

If you count yourself among those who plan on skipping the stove and going straight into the food coma, here’s a list of places where you can have a Thanksgiving feast, minus all the post-turkey cleanup.

What’s Open in Clark County:

  • Applebee's
  • Bob Evans
  • Cracker Barrel Old County Store
  • Golden Corral
  • Steak 'n' Shake
  • Waffle House

The Golden Jersey Inn at Young's Jersey Dairy is also open on Thanksgiving, but requires reservations. As of time of writing, they're completely booked. But the popular restaurant will allow potential patrons to get on their stand-by list in case of cancellations.
