Demolition Day

Well folks, if you weren’t there, you missed the exciting festivities! There were about 1,000 spectators when I went to see the house demolition at the Akers. However, I am sure many more came and went throughout the day.

The coolest part was talking to the executive producer who said the response from this community was greater than any other. More than 25,000 people nominated the Akers, and he said that was a wake-up call for ABC. A banner with 4,000 signatures also caught his attention. He said they didn’t know what it was until they rolled it open and saw signature upon signature. It was something that he said touched them.

The other fun part was listening to screaming fans. “It’s Ed! Ed is so hot!” Or, “It’s Micheal! We love you Michael!”

Some fans sported temporary gotees to match Ty Pennington.

I just posted a story about heat, but the organizers want people to remember to bring water and food, because it is HOT! THere was one girl who had heat-related medical issues. Also, organizers said people are not allowed to walk up to the site. They must go to the Voice of America park to be bused over.

Keep us posted on your experiences!
