Extra points

• Crushing play that hurt Northmont:

Elder has ball to start 4th Q; is pushed back to its 11; QB Mark Miller avoids a couple sacks, scrambles right and completes a bomb to Josh Jones deep down right sideline. Jones had beaten Mark Mays, but fumbled. Elder recovers deep in Northmont territory and hits tying FG.

• Miller drilled Northmont’s secondary, completing 14 of 15 passes for a buck-eighty. Lack of a pass rush might also have had something to do with that.

• A lake of purple on Elder’s stadium side. Not unexpected, Panthers have about twice as many fans than Thunderbolts. Both games drew 11,000 total.

• Good, crisp fall night; perfect for some great high school football.

END OF HALF.

• Elder not particularly impressive, except for the opening scoring drive. But, neither has been Northmont. Still, bodes well for Bolts to be this close at the half. Stranger things have happened, but this could be the perfect storm for Northmont. No way Elder isn’t looking to next week vs. Colerain. Panthers seem flat. Of course, that could have something to do with Northmont’s defense. If Mays can get untracked and Belton continue to run and complete a few passes …

great job northmont holding elder to 1 touchdown (and 2 field goals), NICE… northmont was in the game all the way, only losing by a field goal with a minute twenty left in the game. So much for the blow out, that will be next week for elder…

Doesn’t the 2005 win by Wayne over Centerville count as a second-round game? How about checking facts before writing things. Nice work Pendlemoron

Great job this season to the Bolts. You came out this season in a new conference and showed them what its all about. Congrats to Lance and all his staff and see you next year

Elder had no idea how good N’Mont really was. One break is all that bolts needed and they would have been on their way to the Championship. Congrats to coaching staff and team as they did play their heart out. To hold Elder at their other home field with 6,000 purple fans to me is a victory. Centerville never would have matched up to Elder if they were to play them. In which they probably should have but their coach Ullery prevented that from happening, ha!! Centerville Who? Go Bolts 2009

So The Bolts HUNG in the whole game. As my name says, Doesn’t Matter they still lost. Would it had matter if the score was 50-47 or 3-0? Bolts Still lost. Is that not the whole reason to play, to win. Close only counts in Corn Hole and Horse Shoes.I was sitting with the other Bolt fans, those few who drove down on a cold Football night. For this sports reporter to say only 11,000 were there, well it seem the bottom seats were full with lots in the upper deck of Nippert..He states 11,000 for both games.. Was this presale, seeing how many Purple I saw. It is a shame the Bolts fans didn’t drive down. We do have more fans then that..I saw Elder over Colerain ..

It is a shame this game wasn’t in Dayton. Welcome Staium can fit 11,000 people, and Northmont was the higher seed. The OSHAA caters to the Cincy schools. But good job Bolts

mr.doesn’tmatterbolts stilllost’ You have no concept as to how a football game is played. as thanx stated Bolts were ahead the up until the field goal that Elder kicked to win the game. Yes the object is to win but at least we did not get blown out like Centerville or any other GWOC team would have gotten. As for the attendance correct we should have had more but dah you saw more purple, wake up it was a home game for them the farthest their fans had to travel was approximately 15 miles compared to our 90+. You probably were not very good in math correct? Summary we lost yes but played them even the entire game and it could have gone either way. By the way your prediction is wrong also, Elder will lose next week 28-21 you will see

EK, you don’t need to hit the replay button. So my Math is wrong, The name of the game is WIN! Not to play tough against Elder. When the game is over Elder had 3 points more then we did. YES I am a Tbolt fan, went to HS there etcetc. Bolts may have shown they can play against Cincy teams, but IT DOESN’T Matter IF YOU LOSE! When I read what Lance said, ticked me off. IF Tbolts had won THEN he could say that, BUT WE LOST!. Get Real! Until TBolts win against a Major Cincy team in Playoff and go beyond 2 playoff games WE ARE NOT Ready to take on the best Cincy has to offer.

EK, While I am Proud to have the Bolts go to the play off each year, UNTIL they beat a Cincy Team in the 1st/2nd round, then we can’t say we played well against them. T-Bolts record in payoff games are now 2-8,Wayne is 8-12.Colerain is 24-12 and Elder is 22-9. I want to see it much better then 2-8. They have not made it out of round 2. Elder and Colerain has won 3 of the last 6 State Championships in Div One. Nothing we can say will change that, I want to see one day Tbolts name up there one day. I congrat them on making it this year, BUT they still must WIN in Cincy over Cincy Teams. FACT!

I don’t know where northmont is located in Dayton, EK. But there isn’t anywhere in town that is 90+ miles away from Nibbert. Dayton airport is about 58 miles away from Nibbert to give you a point of evaluation. Nibbert is bigger, newer, and better than Welcome Stadium, Dayton simply does not have the adequate logistics to host these functions with their current facilities. Ask any of these kids where they’d rather play as well….a high school stadium or a college/profootball stadium (some gaems used to be played at PBS). You tell me what they say.
