How will you be ringing in 2008?
New Year’s Eve is fast approaching. Do you have plans? A party to attend? Champagne to buy?
If you’re throwing a party or even attending one, you can get into the spirit buy purchasing party hats, headbands, lei-like necklaces and even special 2008 champagne flutes.
And you can’t forget the party poppers, sparklers and noisemakers! I attended a party a few years ago where their tradition was to go outside at midnight and give everyone a can of silly string! What a beautiful mess! But it was a fun way to ring in the new year!
As for where to purchase your supplies, most stores have some type of display out already, ushering Christmas right on out. At Meijer they had a variety of choices for all of the above including plastic champagne glasses for the toast at midnight. The Beavercreek store on Col. Glenn Highway had their display right in the front near the newspaper stands.
While you don’t have much time left to order online, you also can find a variety of New Year’s party supplies through the Oriental Trading Company at decent prices.
And I can’t forget to give you a well-known, yet oft-forgot secret: The Dollar Tree. Even they have party supplies and plastic stemware. And the best part is that it’s only $1. But a word of caution: $1 here and a $1 there adds up and you may be tempted to buy more than you need and even things you don’t need because you feel like you’re saving money! So when shopping for your party (and this applies to any party planning), make sure you make a list of what you need to avoid overspending!
Tomorrow: Fun ways for your kids to celebrate the New Year!
