“Blah Blah Blah” singer talks smack about lip-syncing Britney Spears
Ke$ha thinks Britney Spears should actually sing on stage.
The Tik Tok singer recently called Spears out for lip-syncing on her world tour.
“I think that’s bulls*, the 23-year-old whispered during an interview with the Scotland’s Daily Record.
Ke$ha knows a little about Spears’ ability. She sang background on Spear’s 2008 song “Lace and Leather.”
And the “Blah Blah Blah” singer didn’t stop there. There was more blah blah blah.
”I don’t think that’s fair at all for people who are going to see the show. I think if you are going to be a singer, you should sing. If you are going to be a dancer, you should dance.
“If you are going to do a combination of the two, you should make it very clear when you are singing and very clear when you are dancing. I would never do that to my fans.
“No offense to her specifically but people have asked me before to mime. I have been up at three in the morning for a television show with jet lag but I refuse to mime.
“It’s treating people as if they are too stupid to realize you are not actually singing. Sometimes it is hard to sing and dance at the same time but I would rather be off and be real and genuine about it to my fans. I don’t want to treat my fans like they are stupid.
“That is my take on my fans and life in general. My whole record is super-honest. I am really honest. When I am singing I may sound s*** sometimes but at least you’ll know I’m singing.”
Last year about a 100 ticked off fans stormed out of a Britney Spears show in Australia disappointed in her lip syncing.
Is Ke$ha right. Has lip syncing gone overboard?

Ke$ha who? Sounds like (meow) cat fight. See when I go to a performance I want to see a performance as real as posible. So if you’re really that concerned about your fans then maybe you should do what you should have to do so they don’t have to hear your off key crap.

so Ke$ha. What would you do if you had…say..40 concerts booked and sold out, then part way through you got a really bad cold with a raw throat. Would you cancel the rest of the concerts, croak your way through them or lip-sync? It’s been a common practice for decades, and if some singers wouldn’t dis other singers for doing it (when they probably do it themselves) nobody would be the wiser. Maybe once you get more popular and have to perform night after night, week after week, month after month, you may change your opinion.

I for one as for many others agree with Ke$ha. She hasn’t been the only artist that has spoken up about lip sync performances. I as a fan, expect to get what I pay for my 40-100 dollar ticket. If I wanted to see an artist lip sync in concert, hell I will just put up a photo of the musician on a stage, play their record and charge admission myself. Thats all they are doing to us fans.

Oh by the way, I am a musician and believe that a performer is being paid to do their job and profession. That is to sing and not lip sync. And as for your comment Roy about if the artist gets sick or a sore throat, been there! Its called a refund or reschedule concert date.

I think Ke$ha is DEAD WRONG! Look at how long Britney has been doing this, about 10 years now, EASILY, if not more! Britney is a veteran in the music biz & does a d@mN good job if you ask me! Ke$ha will be hypocritical once she’s around that long (if she is, I smell one-hit wonder though) Britney-you’re my girlllll!

Yes Britney has been doing this for about 10 years and should know better to make it more of a point. Even artists like Bruce Springsteen, Paul Mccartney, and even other artists from other music genre has spoke against lip sync. People who support professional musicians who lip sync is a minority because if you want to waste your money like that, go to a bar and participate in karaoke. Thats all they are doing to their fans but on a bigger stage. Oh as for the minority statement, check the poll out and you will see why I am right there too.

I just don’t see how you can say Britney is doing “karaoke” when it is HER MUSIC! Do you have any idea how tired & fatigued these artists are? I’m sure A LOT more artists do this than you think, they are just BETTER at it, or BETTER AT LYING. Paul McCartney & Bruce Springsteen probably speak out about it, because in their hay days, we did not have the technology to allow them to do those sorts of things.

Gwapes, before you speak, let me tell you something. I have worked over 30 years in the music industry and I know what I am talking about here. I have worked with mixing and mastering many professional artists Including mixing some of BRITNEY Spears concert material. So before you claim I don’t know what the hell I am talking about, I have the music experience to back it up! So keep your loyalty to all your lip sync musicians because the more you pay for their concert tickets, they more they have to pay me for producing and mixing the material they are using.

I totally agree with her. I don’t go to a concert to see someone lip sync. I wouldn’t go to a Britney concert anyway. I think she’s too slutty. I liked her when she first came out, but then she became to hard to watch/listen to. Not a good example for kids who do look up to her.

Rabbit, I’m not getting in a p!ssing contest with you here. You could be lying. But you don’t need to prove yourself you to me. I’m just saying that I feel for Britney & all the other artists who do this. & you can’t tell me that there is ONE artist who is constantly singing for real, at some point in their concerts they have to miss at least one note. So you’d be getting paid regardless if there was a concert or just making the LP.

My final comment here on this subject Gwapes. I feel for them too when they get busted or caught that will affect their music career in the wrong way. Ashley Simpson on SNL, Close to over 100 people in Australia walking out on Britney Spears concert and of course the famous one of them all that really hit the music industry the hardest, Millie Vinalli.

But, the thing with Millie Vinalli is that, THAT WASN’T THEIR VOICES TO BEGIN WITH! So they do not pose a valid argument.

But they were Lip syncing and that is a valid argument which got them busted and stripped of their new artist award. Lip syncing no matter if its your music or someone’s else’s that you are pretending to be performing, will effect any musician’s career if busted or caught.

I agree with the comment by “ummm” in case people haven’t noticed Kesha two hit songs both digitally alter her voice several times through out the songs…how is that any better than lip syncing

David Cook doesn’t lip sync. He’s my favorite performer. Don’t care much about Britney anymore. Her music was much better when she first came out as a teenager. Love David Cook, though. Waiting for his new CD coming out soon.
